We explain how the software you use every day really works, in plain language with clear diagrams.

System Design Simple is run by a software engineer and system architect with more than ten years of experience building production systems: web applications, payment and ticketing platforms, invoicing and accounting software, used by businesses in Japan and Nepal.

How we make articles

We use AI tools to help with research, drafts, diagrams and video narration. Every article is checked and edited by a human engineer before it is published, facts are linked to their original sources, and we correct mistakes as soon as we find them. Diagrams of private company systems are simplified explanations of common patterns, not leaked or exact designs.

Security articles are educational and defensive: they explain how to detect and fix problems, never how to attack systems you do not own.
